The competition is open to all aspirant singers with good quality of singing talent that will represent Barangay Bula as the 2nd Bula Pop Idol. Show them what you’ve got.

The competition is composed of 2 nights clash, The Elimination Round and The Final Battle.

The search for Bula Pop Idol aspires to depict a different interpretation of
grace and talents in what real girts are.
Show them what you've got.
The mission of the competition is to
encourage positive and friendly competition amongst individuals but also to allow the community to value the development of standards each year.
BPI (Bula Pop Idol Competition) aims to provide an encouraging environment through positive reinforcement and non-political support for all talents, singers and teams not only in this barangay as well as within this city.
lTHE ELIMINATION ROUND: 20 singers will be selected to undergo in this type of elimination.
The organizer will conduct a draw lots for the sequence of the performances.
They will perform their own choice of music
They must present it in solo.
Only the 8 will go through the FINAL ROUND.
THE FINAL ROUND: 8 will compete the following performances:
1st round: (ENGLISH ROUND)
Any english own choice of song. 6 Participant will proceed to the next round.
2nd round: (TAGALOG/OPM ROUND)
Any Tagalog/OPM own choice of song. 3 Participant will proceed to the last round.
3rd round: (OWN CHOICE OF MUSIC)
n Own choice of song. In where the winners are declare.
4. The Props, back- up dancers/performers or supporting accompaniments may be used as long as they are provided
by the participants, do not use 12 years old children and below as back-up and only 4 human props are allowerd to
avoid commotion.
5. Fire, Water, deadly weapons and other dangerous and explicity offending objects are stricly prohibited as your props.
You may subject for disqualification when these occurs.
6. Presentations must be within the bounds of moral decency and must not offend anyone’s sensibilities.
7. Generally, costumes must be within standards of decency, cleavage exposures are not allowed.
8. The official participants must attend the on call rehearsal and the schedule of activities will be provided.
NOTE: 3 consecutive tardiness and absences will be disqualified automatically.
9. Tapes, CD’S, flash drives should be prepared for at least (1) day before the competition to avoid delay.
10. Applicant is required to strictly adhere to the competition rules and regulation, and if any of these rules are broken by
the applicants - applicants understands that participation disqualification of title will be the resulting of the
judges decisions.
11. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
Complaint Mechanics
1. Complaints must only be regarding to possible violations of the rules and not the scores given by any of the judges.
2. Complaints will only be entertained within 10 minutes starting right after the performances.
3. Complaints from other entities will not be entertained.
4. After the 10 minutes allotted time, no more complaints or appeal shall be entertained and the complaint committee
shall be given 5 minutes to deliberate. The decision of the committee shall be final and irrevocable.
5. After all valid complaints have been entertained.
Protest and Rules Discrepancies
1. Protests are prohibited and will not be accepted regarding any score or result of a decision.
2. Any problem or discrepancy during a competition will be brought to the attention of the competition organizer
who will address it with the Head Judge, and/or event committee, and the respective decision(s) made will be final.
Criteria for Judging
Voice Quality - 40 % Which includes Timing, Mastery of the Song and its Enterpretation.
Visual Performance - 40% Performance Energy, Gracefulness, Confidence, Synchronization,
Singing Styles, Appearance and Delivery of the Song.
Stage Presence - 20% Costume, Stage Banter (Audience Interaction, Reaction), Entertainment
Value and Crowd Appeal and Judges Final Factor.
Total - 100%
3. All scores will be tabulated by approved tabulators.
4. Our adjudicators are vocal music professionals who have been certified by Bula Barangay Council to evaluate our
performers. As part of this process, they are required to maintain the highest ethical standards and practices in all
judging activities. Judges who do not uphold these standards may be suspended or have their certification revoked.
5. The council is not adequate to preclude a certified adjudicator from serving on a panel. Other potential conflicts
of interest will be handled at the discretion of the organizers.
6. Judges deserve to be treated with respect from our competitors and their friends, families and fans.
Penalties for abusive behavior toward judges, including from directors and parents, may include disqualification from
future Bula Pop Idol competitions.
7. Judging shall be carried out to utilizing the “Ranking System” and in case of a tie, the Point System shall be applied
to break the same. Should there still be a tie after applying the point system the judges led by their chairman
shall agree on the means on how to break it.
8. The adjudicators decision is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.
Application of Entry
You must fill-up the form attached by this site and submit the following requirements to the Office of the Barangay Secretary, 2nd Floor, Bula Barangay Hall Building, Bula, General Santos City on or before September 23, 2015, 5 P.M.
Only the first 15 applicants must be accomodated and have a chance to become the next Bula Pop Idol.
